 "Good lock" 2009-09-17

The good lock. It seems to have a sturdy wire. The only problem is that i cannot put the cable back into the lock without the key, but that is not a problem as the lock is well built.

"Handy to have a set" 2009-06-26
By Randall Griffith
The actual lock mechanism on these locks is better quality than the el-cheapo gun locks that come with any new gun nowadays - no shaking the key around to get the lock to open. One downside is that you must hold the lock open in order to insert the cable end - it will not just snap in. This is the same as any other lock of this style that I have used, but I wish somebody would make one where you can just press the tip in without awkwardly holding the lock body and keeping the key turned at the same time.

The loops have a plastic coating around them, which is not clear in the photo. Only the tip is exposed metal. The loops are quite stiff. This can cause some small difficulty getting them looped back and locked, especially with larger framed pistols. Also, it makes it harder to get the lock to lay flat or otherwise fit in the case.

Of course the big advantage is having one key for 6 locks. I'm not sure what to do with all of my old locks now.

"Nice locks but one small problem..." 2009-04-26
By Mark Zablocki (WARREN, MI United States)
These are nice locks and well worth the money. I discovered only one small problem with using this type of gun lock. After installing the lock, you can't put your gun (revolver or semi-automatic) back in its case (if you keep your gun in a case like I do). The lock keeps the chamber of my revolver open so now I can't close the case. For semi-autos, the length of the metal cable extends far past the end of the gun. Again, because of the lock, I can't close my pistol case. As a result, the pistols have to be stored outside their cases where they can get easily damaged. That makes me very unhappy. These locks are a nice product, but unfortunately they will be going back to Amamzon.
